Preface

This history has been a pleasure to write and now that it is finished we sincerely hope that it meets with everyone's approval.

If there is any criticism please give it all to Bro. Wm. D. Nickerson - any bouquets you may toss to both of us.

If any excuse were needed for writing a history, the following quotation from Lieut. General James G. Harbord, U. S. Army Retired, would seem appropriate -

"The roads you travel so briskly lead out of dim antiquity, and you study the past chiefly because of its bearing on the living present and its promise for the future."

Transcriber's Note:

On the reverse of Page 4 of this history appears the following hand-written note:

"Wor. I would like to make a correction of the Sec'y. Bro. Bill Nickerson that I did all of the work on the History. His part was just as great as mine tho maybe not as noticeable. His minutes and records were very easy to follow. Bro. Edward Moore deserves a lot of credit for the fine covers that he volunteered to print and put on to improve the appearance of our History."
