M.W. Gerald S. Leighton, Grand Master of Masons in Maine had the honor and the pleasure to officially receive the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Master of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the Jurisdiction of Massachusetts in our state for the very first time on Saturday, April 7, 2007. Most Worshipful Brother Leslie Lewis, Prince Hall Grand Master and a large delegation from his Jurisdiction, along with the Grand Masters of New Hampshire and Vermont, were warmly received by Grand Master Leighton and Brethren of Maine who turned out in large numbers to fill Corinthian Hall in Portland to say, "Welcome my Brothers". The highlighting event was marked by a Rededication and Reobligation Ceremony designed to recommit or reaffirm our pledge to the principles of Freemasonry regardless of our geographical borders. Masons of four Grand Jurisdictions joined together in peace and harmony to share the fraternal bonds of Brotherly Love and the promotion of goodwill. A special thanks goes to Arundel Lodge No. 76 at Kennebunkport for organizing the entire event.
