On Friday, June 8th, the brethren of United Lodge #8 honored one of the most dedicated Masons in the 14th District, Worshipful Brother Robert E. Webber. He has held almost every office in the lodge at one time or another and he has served as Master of the lodge 5 times. He is never too busy to help anyone and he truly exemplifies the true meaning of being a Mason.

We wanted to recognize Bob and his Wife, Sandy, in a special way because they are an awesome team and have done so much for United Lodge #8. We treated them to a tasty dinner at Richard’s German restaurant in Brunswick in the company of 25 brothers and their wives. The Master, Worshipful Brother Harry Grinder presented Sandy with a bouquet of flowers and he presented Bob with a framed certificate that identified him as our Most Valuable Mason. It was a very special evening.
United Lodge #8 had the honor of presenting a star to Worshipful Brother Robert Grondin, Past Master of United Lodge #8, on the occasion of his 55th year as a Mason. Bob is the current Junior Warden of the lodge. The photo shows Bob Grondin on the left and Worshipful Brother Harry Grinder on the right, current master, following the award presentation .

On Tuesday, June 12th, United Lodge #8 presented Mrs. Betsy Clough with her Widow's Pin. The photo shows Mrs. Clough on the left wearing her pin and listening as the lodge master, Worshipful Harry Grinder reads the certificate that accompanies the pin. Mrs. Clough seemed very grateful for the pin and certificate.

The second photo shows Mrs. Clough in the center with past master, Worshipful Brother Bob Webber on the left and the current master, Worshipful Brother Harry Grinder on the right.

Mrs. Clough's late husband, Brother Phil Clough played an integral role in the establishment of a lodge lending library. In honor of Phil's work, the library was dedicated to him and the sign that Mrs. Clough is holding will be installed above the library door. Bob Webber, on the left, created the sign and presented it to Mrs. Clough in honor of her late husband, Phil.
United Lodge #8 presents two $1,000 scholarships each year to a deserving graduate of Brunswick High School and another to a deserving graduate from Mt. Ararat High School. This year the scholarships were presented to the recipients by the Chairman of the lodge Scholarship Committee, Worshipful Brother Jim Bridge at ceremonies that were held at the respective schools.
On June 12th, United Lodge #8 also honored this year's two scholarship winners and their families by treating them to a delicious dinner followed by complimentary comments and photographs in the lodge room.
