Wor.
William Kurtz is the father of outreach at St. Aspinquid Lodge as he with help
from R.W. Bob Hoyt started an Annual Chowderfest over a decade ago to reach out
to those in need of food assistance in our community via York Food Panty. R.W.
Hoyt solicits food from various vendors, cooks the chowders and the Couples Club
sells the tickets and provides the servers. Here Wor. Kurtz and R.W. Hoyt present
the Chowderfest proceeds to Fran Kirschner and Marrianne Quinn who volunteer
their time to operate York Food Panty.
June 6, 2006 was a special occasion at the St. Aspinquid Lodge No. 198 Annual Stated Meeting as Wor. G. Edward Cooper was honored for 75 years of service to Freemasonry in St. Aspinquid Lodge. His nephew Wor. George Cooper added the fifth star to Wor. G. Edward Cooper's 50 year Veterans Medal.

The Square and Compass Couples Club at St. Aspinquid Lodge
volunteered to paine and refurbish the windows of the John Hancock Warehouse
of the York Historical Society. Bro. Schermer, a painter by profession considered
the lack of paint on such an historic building was disrespectful to the memory
of Bro. Hancock. So, with a matching grant from Grand Lodge a dozen men and women
of the Couples Club painted the building and refurbished the windows. The paint
restored the building to its' original color.
